well u know thouse little splitters for like cable tv's? thats what i mean, only for the ethernet.

Dude, get a router and follow my picture. It's the easiest way, and 99% of people set it up this way. Getting a cable splitter to split the line before it gets to the modem could get you in trouble with your ISP

I think i may have found what you are looking for, if it is right, they are definately out their!

It plugs into your modem's ethernet port and then you plug the cat5 to your PS2 in one socket and the other cat5 into your pc!

you need a router. A router is a specialised piece of equipment that will split the connection so you PS2 and PC can send and recieve different signals. The little gadget pictured above in j.venning's post will basically duplicate the same signal through 2 cables, and why you would want that, i dont know... you need a router for the job, just as MarxSoccer suggested..
