just wanted to know your thoughts on the difference i plan to buy the 2.8 just want to know if its a good investment on newegg its for $68

300 Mhz isn't going to make a very big difference unless it's dual core. I would just put that money towards a new computer or build.

y a p4
how about at lest a pD or a cheep core 2 duo
a slight clock speed difference wont make it that much faster

well i don't want to buy another cpu just want to increase multitasking a little bit, i'm not expecting huge improvements just slight ones, thought with the faster FB and processor speed i could add a couple years to my rig

wat slot do u have?
theres no point in buying the same cpu over if
your not going to notice any change exsept mabey 3 fps in games
u have slot 755 get a pD there extreamly cheep
and ull see a huge difference

test the cpu using this http://www.mcsstudios.com/en/mcscpu.htm
i tested my p4 northwood 2.8ghz and 3309 so benchmark yours and see what you get and if it not a considerable difference dont bother
also i tyested my 2.53 prescot celeron D and got 2949 so you should score more than that i think as the only diff between the 2 would be cache with the celeron having 256k and P4 hacing 512K oh and the celeron has sse3

ok u have 478 socket
then u can only use a P4
that suxs..... oh well then ya no point in upgrading
if u have a good heat sink and fan
over clock it a bit
