I know some phones are dual base phhones, both 2.4 or 5.8. Gladly, I use an old one...the once that searches for device when it's touching antennas :p

2.8 GHz devices basically choose a part of that frequency that isn't being used by other devices at the moment. You can think of it like this: your wireless operates at 2.8A, your phone at 2.8B, your bluetooth devices at 2.8C, and etc. That's how it has been explained to me, anyway.
