Default 2-13-09 Canít copy files from 2 gig PNY Flash drive

Iím not sure how to describe it. If I pull a couple of files to my pc it works. But I tried to back the entire flash drive and it said it couldnít read the source drive. So I tried to run defrag and thatís when I figured something out I think. My flash drive shows up as FAT file system in defrag. And it tells me that their might be something wrong and to run chkdik.
So I backed up what I could and was going to try and format it in windows. But in the drop down menu there were only 2 options FAT, FAT32. I want to format it and put NTFS on it.
Why canít I copy all my files at once?

Some stick drives will not allow NTFS.
Format it with fat.

I'm quite sure all drives are capable of NTFS.

You need to go to start -> run -> type "devmgmt.msc" (no quotes)

Then find your usb drive in disks -> right click -> properties -> policies tab -> select "optimize for performance" -> click OK.

Now go back into My Computer, right click your drive to format and the NTFS option should now be there.
