Default 17"screen

Hi
Does anyone know if the hp dv9000 screen will fit the hp zd8000 both are 17"

Probably not, The DV9000 is a lot newer and updated than the ZD8000. They may also use different connectors.

Yeah, i don't think it will fit ether.
At work we have about 30 Dell E5400 laptops. we got half of them in 2009 and the next half in 2010. That year difference already made the screens incompatible with the same models released the year before.
I have been swapping out parts from defected computers to make half of them work again, but the screen is one of those things i can't always swap. Simple because the connector is different from 2009 to 2010

You can find them on ebay. Make sure they will fit before you buy.
My experience says it doesn't necessarily fit, just because it has the same model name as your laptop.
Different revisions does sometimes make a difference in compatibility.

Thanks I was trying to get a used one cheaper because the laptop is so old and not worth much but I have win 7 on it now so it would last a little longer

Just googled the laptops specs in the hp zd8000. I can see it's from 2004.
I'll not recommend spending a single dollar on it. It's simply too old.

Well it id did last another 5 years it would be suitable for Guinness Book of Records.
Laptop shelf life is generally 3 years and I have seen them last 7-8, but never longer than that and I am in the business.
