11.1v Battery Replacing 14.4v battery on LAPTOP?

My 2 year old toshiba laptop came with a 14.4v 2000 mAh (4 cell) that only lasts 45 minutes with the screen dimmed. I found an OEM compatible battery for my model that is 11.1v and 7200 mAh (12 cell).

Does the voltage matter? and will the 11.1v 12 cell be like using a 14.4 8 cell?

no, get the same battery as the one that came with the laptop. the only exception is a battery with a larger capacity that is made for your laptop.

NO is fits in your laptop. you would be running on a 3s lipo battery at 11.1 volts

you need a 4s lipo running at 14.4 volts

and idk why but you kept saying 12cells then 8 then 3 then 4. it is 3 or 4/

3s is a 3 cell lipo.

4s is a 4 cell lipo.

the 's' means series. so 3s is 3 cells in series.

so series combine the voltage of the cells

p or parallel combines the capacity

so a 3s2p is 6 cells
3s1p is just said as 3s.
