Thinking about having a friend build a computer for me, this is what he came up with. Any tips or comments would be great, thanks.

*Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
*Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
*OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
*GIGABYTE GA-P31-S3G ATX Intel Motherboard
*GIGABYTE GZ-X2BPD-500 Black Computer Case
*NZXT PS-NT-PP600-R 600W Power Supply
*ASUS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black E-IDE/PATA Model DRW-2014S1
*HIS Hightech Radeon HD 4850 H485F512P Video Card

bump the processor up to a q series for 20 dollars more you can go quad man.

Are you thinking this would be a better option for me?

*Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor

oh yes!

appreciate the rep but it didn't affect my points at all lol, but thatnks for the gesture.

No dont take the quad if your doing gaming. the E8400 will oC so much higher and will = better performance

A few questions.

- Will this be pre-built or custom?
- Are you in the US or Canada?
- Will you be overclocking?

Go with the E8400...like mentioned above, will out perform the Quad. If you over clock most definitely...and even without OC, it still runs amazing.
I am running the E8400, and i couldn't be any happier :)

If you won't be overclocking, I wouldn't change anything from your proposed build, it looks pretty much perfect.
