Is there any particular size monitor you want?

Additionally, when you build this monster use this guide.

Here's the current config:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail for $295.

ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail for $84.99

HIS Hightech Radeon X1600PRO H160PRQ256N IceQ CrossFire Ready Video Card - Retail for $153.

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail for $69

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic Sound Card - Retail for $121.99

Western Digital Caviar RE 160GB 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM for $85

2 of these for a total of $109.98.

XION XION II XON-103 Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window for $64.99

Media Center OS for $119.95

Hmmm... the case has a power supply of its own. I guess that's adequate. All we need now is the shipping fee and monitor.

Something around 19" would be nice.

yeah man, look you can get one of the best computers for that much money. you're pretty much just paying for the Dell name brand. IMO, i hate Dell, they charged me $150 for ram when i could have gotten the same thing for $40. screw them. the processor is very good though, however, the video card is NOT. man, $1069 for just that? thats a rip off in my opinion. go to www.cyberpowerpc.com or www.ibuypower.com and customize your own, you'll be so suprised on how much of a better deal you can get. i'm currently saving up for an athlon 3200, geforce 6800gs, and 1 gig of ram, and only $750 at cyberpower! it may be a little more for the processor, but it's stilll a great deal. good luck, hope i helped

Choose whichever of these you like. I think we'll be exceeding your $1000 limit, however.

May i ask why you would tell him to buy "2 of these for a total of $109.98." why would he need to dvd nurners you can only burn one dvd at a time no? So all he would need is one of those and a good dvd rom rite? Could save himself another 30$ maybe or 20

Whoops... it's good to have 2 drives though. But silly me, swap one of the optical drives for something else. Rob, what dell are you talking about?
