100ft is well within the specifications of Cat5 / Cat6, you don't have to worry until you hit 90M

as others said, 100 ft is no problem with speed reduction.. however try to keep the wire away from other electric cables, don't want to create any interference or crosstalk

Yeah you should not have any problems with 100ft. Here's a good, cheap place for cables. 100ft. cat5e cable only $9
