Default $1,500 Gaming Rig

I just got the go ahead from the GF to build the new puter. I've never built one before, but theres a lot of good forums and it shouldn't be too hard. Heres what I want to get started on to build it around.

X1900 XT

These 2 alone come to about $700, can the rest be filled in with decent parts, IE 2 gig of pc800? and a Monitor? I guess I could go with the E6400 to cut some cost as well. I would like to go with a 512mb video though, any thoughts on that card? I'm not picky on monitors either, a decent 17 or 19 would be fine.
Thanks for any recomendations......

Just make sure you get a decent anough monitor to take atleast 75 to 85 frame rates.

But with that money you can build a really decent gaming rig.
