1 of 3 Harddrives causing a short in my system. Why?

Yes, refer to your motherboard manual.
It should be something like this:
- Unplug your computer
- Take out the CMOS battery (the battery on the motherboard)
- Remove or move that jumper for about 10 seconds
- Put the jumper back, then replace the battery and plug the computer back in

It could be simply a bad drive. I've had a couple of bad drives keep a system from booting.

I think maybe he had the pcb of one drive touching the metal case of the other drive, ergo short.

I presume you've looked at the IDE socket pins on the F: drive and they're all OK?

Yes all the pins are fine. I did remove the drive. It was crammed in very close to the other two drives. On top of the drive is a brown mark that looks like it was made by either a short or just being heated up over a long period of time. I plugged it in after removing it and still nothing. The computer wont make a sound.

Going to try reseting the BIOS. If that doesnt work I would appreciate some more suggestions.
