Default I want to host my own website...

I know that apache is the most popular form of hosting your own website, but I would like to know if there is a program that is less complicated. (I can host my site with only HTML if that helps.) If I have to use Apache could you guys please give me some links to sites that give tutorials on how to host a server. Also I would like to know if hosting a website is faster with a dual 500 mhz computer or 1 ghz or if they are both identical.

You probably wont notice a difference with the computer speeds... if you want something simple.. try Abyss Web Server from Aprelium Technologies...

http://aprelium.com/

I used this before Apache... and Apache before IIS 5 in Windows Server 2000 and ... that before IIS 6 in Server 2003..
