Their canceling procedure isn't bad. I've canceled twice now on sites I didn't want and after a while they credited the amount back to my credit card. I've had a perfectly good experience with them, as well as some other hosts,
Never been overcharged with domains. Never had any unusual charges (except that $2 fee for canceling, I got my money back less $2).
If you buy hosting @ 1.50$ per month, it includes a free domain and 500 email addresses under that domain.
For the 9000th time, regardless of the host you can't have a super-busy site on shared hosting. Dreamhost is the worst when it comes to that type of thing, and I've saw other hosts do it too.
I bring along a fair amount of traffic to my blogs, and the site I manage for my town, and I haven't encountered any problems. (Not a lot of traffic, but my town's site gets 1000 to 2000 hits a day).
