Default Video Ipod Problem

My friend is havin trouble gettin videos on his ipod. He has ones off his comp that arent bought off itunes and cant manage to get em on there. Any ideas...

yeah if u buy quicktime 7 it; convert them to mp4, and it makes (according to apple's webpage) excellent quality videos

thats acutally the most rediculous thing ive ever heard... EVER, why doesnt itunes have a video program, its suppose to support an ipod
