I'm building my first Gaming PC and would like to know if these parts are compatible:

-Processor: AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition 2.8GHz Dual Core - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103678

-Video Card: : Radeon HD 4870 1GB (PCI) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150395

and,
Motherboard: Which one should I get and which one, or both, are compatible with the parts above?

Option 1: ECS BLACK SERIES GF8200A (V1.0) AM2+/AM3 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135085

Option 2: MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130223

I'm thinking about going with the ECS Black Series because it looks like it supports the Processor but I'm not sure. Please give any suggestions! I really want to go top of the line with this to make it very powerful.

Thanks So Much,
dwmcc.

Those parts are all compatible except for the MSI motherboard. It's a socket AM3 whereas the CPU and ECS motherboard are socket AM2+. The video card will work on any current motherboard with a PCI Express graphics slot.

when buying a processor and motherboard, all you need to do is looks at the socket type and you will know if they are compatible :) (just for future reference)
