Sony v. NEC

I own a Sony Bravia. Just bought it a week ago. Go with the NEC, IMHO. Their panels are so amazing compared to most companies. 720p and 1080p doesn't mean squat unless you have a huge screen.

The price is basically the same. Both are around the 600 dollar range. Thanks for your input.

Edit: Wow, look at this.

SIPS is better than SPVA, isn't it??? That's odd...or maybe I'm LCD stupid. :p

Well, I just found it odd that the larger (in the eyes of /most/ consumers "more superior") model was 1080p, yet did not have as great of panel technology. That's all.

Is it a size issue?...like can certain panel tech only be used in certain size panels?

I know there are certain panel types that are specifically linked to size (TN - almost always linked to 22" monitors/televisions), but I'm not exactly sure why they used an arguably inferior panel. My guess would be it's harder to produce the panel in a larger format.

Absolutely amazing. It blows my 42" Olevia t.v. out of the water. You do have to calibrate it the first time you use it, though. But then again, you do for most televisions.
