Default SATA or IDE cables

i am currently buildin my 1st pc and i was woundering which is better SATA cables or the IDE

Def SATA they are faster than IDE and look alot neater aswell

yeah sata is faster , the setup my friend built with my help tho was for the boot drive that he ran xp off used a sata drive which was 80gb then had 4 IDE storage drives to have data running off as he had theese from previous builds and tehey where a lot slower loading things . for instance his windopws boot became quicker and so did software loading times
so yeah go with sata
