PS2 Slim is glitching

My PS2 slim is not reading any games at all. When I put in a game and turn on the power, there are some strange clicking/grinding noises and then it says DISC CANNOT BE READ. I took apart the PS2 and cleaned off the lens with a Q-TIP but that didn't work either. Any ideas?

my normal ps2 was doing that. it had a black round thing near the lens that you could twist and it would move the lens up and down. fiddling with that and cleaning the lens loads sorted mine out. not sure if this is the same with the slim

Sounds like the lase motor has taken a crap. I'd tru what Dude_se said and if that doesn't work, then you'll need another one.

how do u find the knob to twist on the PS2? If that doesn't work, ill have to buy a new laser altogether?
