my old rca lyra rd2850 has been apart for about 4 months ever since i got my ipod. but i decided to try and fix it. everything worked except the buttons, but they would if i take a little screwdriver and kind of touch where the button goes. everything was working fine until i played around with a wire and the screen stopped working.

yeah, but my dad wants an mp3 player to jog around in. its a hard drive player, but oh well.

Just buy him a cheap flash memory based MP3 player. They're perfect for jogging or biking, because if you drop it, the data will last longer. If it was hard drive based and you dropped it, you could potentially damage the platters in a fall.
