Nothing shows on my screen. Help please.

Hey everybody, i'm pretty much in need of some help. so my problem is... One day when i was using the computer out of no where my screen goes black. I restart it / replugged / etc. and still nothing shows up on my screen. I know my computer is still working because when I turn it on, the screen is black, but I can hear the windows startup sound.

I thought it would be my graphic card, so I bought a new one but the problem still persists.

can anyone help what seems to be the problem with my computer? appreciate the help.

Bad video cable? Monitor?

like mention try another monitor with a different vga cable. if problem still persists then the slot on mobo is dead. If you have onboard gfx try that as well.
