Default Need a DVD player thats supports .avi

Hello everyone, recently i've been burning a lot of shows on to dvd's and I thought my current dvd player would play them as when I bought it it played some, but most of the dvd's I've burned with shows and stuff wont play. So im looking for a good dvd player that can play .avi files. I know for a fact that some files are coded with different codecs so I need a dvd player that can play just about anything.

Thanks!

Your standard computer dvd-rom, should be able to handle those files fine. Actually you don't even need a dvd-rom to read the disc, since your just burning avi files. A Cd-rom should be alrite for that.Look on www.newegg.com, and just look at the specs.

If you mean a standard DVD player for rooms in the house, I don't know of one that plays AVI's, though, I do know of one that plays DIVX files, which are probably AVI's running that decoder. But not one that'd play any, as there are too many codecs, and an AVI with no codec would take up too much room really.

Heres are examples:

X800 - Alot of DVD players support DVD Audio/CD's and MP3 DVD's...

Hope this helps.
