Default Mp4 Vs Avi?

im planning on getting a new ipod video, and i have aproximately 23gb of video and 13gb of audio on my computer i want to convert the video from avi to mpeg 4 using new quicktime 7 will the movie change in size? (compressed at i think 768kb) For example how big wold a 2 hour movie in avi be in mp4. I have used 3pg converter for my psp and it verys depending on the setting.

Believe it or not, but AVI consists of many different formats... You have DIVX, 3IVX and etc. Mostly all of these are already Mpeg4... DIVX is just an alteration of Mpeg4... So is 3IVX... So, converting them into a format they are already in will probably not change the size by much, if any...

you could lower the bitrate. but donte use quicktime to convert it, its slow as hell. download videora ipod converter. its sweet and its free.
