i have a 20gb mp3 player hard drive that i can't use via usb through the mp3 player so i was wondering if i can convert it to usb or firewire.

Wait.. What.. You caht use via use though the mp3, but your asking to convert it to usb?

And im gonna move this but leave a redirect.

what sort of player did you take it out of?

and do you have any information about the hard drive?

I suppose, (in theory) if there are standard IDE pins then it can be a standard IDE HDD, connected by either UB or firewire depending on what you choose/buy/make

RCA Lyra RD2850. I think the harddrive was a hitachi travelstar or something. i'm pretty sure its IDE pins. should i take some pictures?

it did work for the mp3 player but i tried fixing it and one problem led to another. the screen doesn't even work now. the backlight turns on but nothings on the screen.

i don't know. i'm too lazy to get it out. they don't have some kind of conversion kit or something?

to lazy to get what out?

the hdd out of the player, or the player out of storing or w/e

u r gonna need to get something out before you can do anything.
