Motherboard problem!

Hi

I have had a problem with every once in awhile the computer re booting....I took the case off to spray dust out..I notice a fairly good size fan on the motherboard isn't turning..Not the CPU fan but on another chip next to it...I have an Albatron KX18D mother board but no manual...For all i know this fan could have not turned for months..I also noted the top case fan doesn't turn either but the 3 others do....could this cause the intermittent re start?

Have no meter to check voltages right now..any advice what to do appreciated.

That fan is probably the cooler for the northbridge chip. It gets pretty hot during use and may be overheating, causing your reboots.

You could replace it with something like this: Vantec CCB-A1C Iceberq

These work really well too: Zalman ZM-NB47J

Well..I orered just the heatsink..wonder if i can continue using my computer in the meantime safely..i see a few things on amazon and i have one panel off the comp to cool stuff down

It should be OK. It'll just shut down again if it gets too hot again.
