BSOD'ed? I wonder what happened.

Anyway, I believe it's an overkill for a gaming rig. I would get an i5 8600K instead, for one example, specially now that it's become a 6 core.

Yeah I said the same thing on his other post. Kinda overkill.

I was also wondering why he was banned. He was necrobumping a lot, but I don't think that the reason. Maybe he asked for it?

There are some exception that an i7 would make a difference, but they are kinda rare and tight. Battlefield 1 multiplayer with 32 players on high refresh monitors with hardware sync techniques to keep high FPS is one of those.

Bumping like crazy, depending, is one legit way to ban newcomers, I agree. But it's not my place to say. Godspeed.

Yeah. It's mostly massive multiplayer games that benefit heavily on high core counts.

I think he was kinda new to forums. I don't think he was familiar with necrobumping. I hope I wasn't too mean to the old chap.

Oh well. "One man's tale is but half a tale."

Just started playing Witcher 3. Amazing. Can anyone recommend a similar game?

You mean an open world RPG? If so (from best to worse IMO):

  • Dark Souls (1, 2 , 3)
  • Fallout (3, New Vegas, 4)
  • Mass Effect (1, 2, 3)
  • The Elder Scrolls (Oblivion, Skyrim)
  • Far Cry (3, 4, Primal)
