Default Monitor Or HDTV?

I don't have enough for a proper monitor at the moment but i have my own 27-inch HDTV so i was wandering is there any down sides to using a HDTV as a computer monitor?

If the TV has a DVI input or your computer has HDMI out, go for it.

Well, yes there are downsides. That doesn't make it unusable though. If you don't have a monitor, just go for it. It's a whole lot better than nothing.

I think its a good option.. One of my friend is using it.. keeping the computer on he switches to tv.. and also has a big screen to watch.. but the problem I saw with him was in the games.. many games had resolution problems..

Hi Gamer_for_life

Use the TV but do save up for a monitor (many monitors have game mode or equivalent, lighting and sharpness are more defined giving better game play)
