Default Medal of Honor:Warfighter released

The long awaited release is a little pricy at $59.99, but that's not unusual these days for a new title.

I haven't looked at any reviews yet. If you should buy the game, please post your opinion on this thread.

Apparently there is a first day massive patch that is delaying reviews.

I purchased the game today, and installed it about 2 hours ago. Installation is a fairly lengthy process, that took about 45 minutes. As soon as installation was complete Origin updated the game.

I haven't looked at any reviews of this game as yet. I thought I'd post a few comments of my own, and a few screenshots after about a 1/2 hour of game play, using a pair of GTX 580 cards, and the 306.97 WHQL driver set.

I set up the resolution for my monitors native res. of 1920x1080, full screen. All the eye candy is max'd out on the Ultra settings with Anisotropic Filtering 16x, and Antialiasing 4x.

As you can see from the screen shots, I had FRAPS running in the upper left corner of the screen. Frame rates were in the 90's most of the time, occasionally peaking around 125, and dropping into the lower 50's when graphics got very intense. That means that a single GTX 580 would run this game from about 35fps to about 70fps, and average about 55fps most of the time. You should be able to judge your card's performance using that information as a base. Obviously, this game does not require an expensive state of the art card to run it max'd out. In fact, I'm sure the Nvidia GTX 400 series, or the AMD HD 7800 series will run it well, albiet at reduced settings.

As far as game play is concerned, I have not tried Multi-Player, but instead have been concentrating on Single Player mode. If you loved MW3, Crysis2, and BF3, you'll love MoHW as well. The action and game play is all new, yet similar. One thing that stands out so far is the sound. All the sounds seem more thoroughly saturated, and crisper than other games. The sounds made by the weapons is just outstanding. Little things like firing a bullet at a metal object gives you the metallic sound you'd expect to hear. Fire that same bullet and a 6'x10' solid wood beam, and you'll hear the "thud" you'd expect. I've really been impressed with the sound!

Some nice additional visuals, like a skull that appears in your scope that indicates a confirmed kill. (seen on the screenshot)

So far, I haven't experienced any glitches, or issues that need to be addressed. SLI works very well, as I watch the work load pretty evenly distributed between the two cards.

I'll return with additional comments as I get much further into the game. So far, on a scale of 0 to 10, I'd give this game an 8.0....that's the most it could get from me, because I'm a little disappointed that the graphics do not fully utilize DX11. In fact, it looks more like DX10, with no evidence of tessellation.

BUT, to be fair, I'm only a short way into the game. Perhaps things will change for better, or worse. So far, that's the way I see it.

Thanks for that review and recommendation. Geez I'm behind, I think I'm on the last level of MoH and would like to finish it first. Maybe by that time it'll be a tad cheaper. Anyway, thanks again!

Oh, this is becoming awesome!

Here's something I've never seen before. When it's too dangerous for human intervention, you get to operate a robotic device, armed with awesome weapons, and you look through the camera. Again the sounds of all weapons is just terrific.

I'm beginning to think this was actually worth the $59 bucks.

The graphics in that game are just incredible. Very clear indeed if i do say so myself. $60 is kinda pricy just like you said, but my question is, "Would Newegg have it for a cheaper price?"

A high profile game, in today's market, runs for $60. And it's been that way for some time (though I've been out of gaming for about 2 years). Personally there is no way I'd pay for games anymore...thus the reason I'm out of games...when I can find free or cheap stuff on my iPad that keep me entertained for the 30-60 minutes I actually have free time to devout to gaming.

Nope, it's a brand new release, so everyone will charge $59.99.

However, I have no doubt that you'll start to see sales for $49, in about a month to 6 weeks. Then you'll see $35.00 in about 2 months, $24.99 in 6 months, and $14.99 in a year. That's just the way it is.

Kaitlyn, one of, if not my favorite, female name. Just wait a while the price will drop.

I took this screen shot, because I'm finding the lighting in some of the scenes technically beautiful, like the streaks of light through all the dust, seen here.
