Default Gaming Problem: Screen Resolution

I'm currently running a game, NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 on my gaming laptop and the screen is very large. Resolution is 1920 x 1200.

However, when I run the game it opens up and basically reverts to like a 800 x 600 resolution or something and I can't even see most of the game which is making it unplayable.

Why is it doing this? What should I have the resolution set to or how can I prevent this from happening?

Could I possibly just run it in a windowed mode somehow?

so your resolution for the laptop is set at 1920 x 1200?
If so, see if you can change the in game resolution of the game in the in-game video settings or something.

Weird, 1920x1200, that is hugeee. but it could possibly be the resolution in your game? If not then the game might not be able to support or be compatible with your screen resolution. If there are different options of resolutions on the game and the pc, try playing around with it and see if you can find the right resolution, it happens with me sometimes, where i play a game the game screen is small. where my monitor screen is bigger.
