![]() My Toshiba is on the left, and the HP I got for free, but had this issue with a chip that I had to solder the pins more securely. Worked for a while, but still having issues. The Compaq is sold, and had a bad LCD inverter. Ordered one form the net and fixed it. It works great! ![]() This Toshiba, I received from a friend who had to diagnose a no POST. Well, he tore the laptop appart and got beat up badly. There's barely few screws holding the thing together. I hot glued the chassis at some areas! Oh and...the no post? The LCD cable wasn't connected...and runs great! |

Those toshes with the exposed speakers on the front were prone to mobo failure weren't they? i remember when they got released we had an influx of returns from mobo failure.

I recall a few models having issues, but most failures were on AMD based systems, as far as I've seen. This one is Intel.

Can't remember the specific models we had in stock then, but they were the AMD ones; Turion X2 if i remember correctly.
