Seriously. January 2007 is the slated release month. No exact date has been released, but you should wait at least half a year before you buy it. It will be expensive when it first comes out. I remember when Windows XP first released...the Professional edition cost almost three times the price it is today, if I'm correct.

Anandtech benchmarked the Vista Beta, and unless you really just want it for bragging purposes or just the looks, don't even bother gaming with it. The 32-bit version of Vista took more than one minute just to boot up into the login screen and the 64-bit version took a little less than one minute.

Yeah mostly because it looks way better the windows xp blue, olive green and silver are kind of boring after a while

Haha, that's why I used the Vista Transformation Pack. Looks way better than the Luna and Royale theme.

In spite of all this, KDE is far more customizable than the vista background! Aero transparent windows? Yeah, t3h linux has had that for years. ^_^

nah you wont get those icons in xp. ive tried the transformation pack. maybe you can change the icons but i aint heard of a way

You can change the icons, it comes with the transformation pack..

to make them really big like vista and even so the go all funny when you put the mouse over them?.... hmm lol. i installed the vista pack (am using it now) but only get the vista sounds and login screen which is gay. not that i need it with the real thing lol
