Wow, I hate that MOBO.... That thing is UNGODLY!! It is so freakin unstable even when you plug in the EZ-Plug..... I had the worst nightmares trying to stabilize that stupid ASUS A8N-SLi board just so I could sell it. ARG!!! I HATE ASUS!! ANd then they had the nerve to put me on hold for two hours!!! WTF is that? BAD BUSINESS IS WHAT!! I hate ASUS, MSI's SLi board pwns that, so does Gigabytes. The ONLY GOOD feature is the AI NOS, which allows you to have the A8N control the clock rates depending on stress. But it likes to freeze up since it overclocks to high sometimes!!!

im building my new rig and i had prety much decided on the asus a8n sli - premium. now this fellow is giving me second thoughts. does anyone have an opinion on the board?

Hmmm... DarkBlade is generally right about those things. It is really down to what you think. No harm in seeing for yourself, that's what Warrenties are for.

How do Intel have a naming Crisis? AMDs are supposed to name their Processors to what an Intel of that power can do. 3.2 is a 3200, 3.5 is a 3500... an Intel 840 at 4.8, would far out do an X2. At very best, it should be an X2 3400.
