So my cooler mod failed epically. The GPU hit 100C after about 20 seconds of furmark. I think I'm gonna put the old one back on later...

The other one had a huge copper core, while the zalman is just flimsy pieces of aluminum and copper.

Ah, that would explain it. Kind of similar to Intel's box coolers.
