I've had my rad fans falling down onto the graphics card. Kind of scary. I'll be posting a bunch here and in the log very soon. ;D

The Velcro stuff? You gotta press hard to get that stuff to stay. I've had falling cathodes before though.

yea, i think half the reason is that theres a screw right where the glue was supposed to be, so the surface was uneven. no matter, ill hot glue it and it will be fine.

I just got a new case yesterday. Antec P183. I've liked the P180 style for awhile, I just never could see myself spending the money for one. After 2 years of my old aluminum case I decided to upgrade after I built my brother's computer with an Antec 1200 and could no longer stand the cable management in my cheap case.

Old and new.

I was hoping the Blue LEDs would come out the side vents in the front, there's too much metal in the front though... Still looks cool when I open the door.

Added an interior light because I had one laying around. Shines through the vents.

Shot of light on.

Light off. Cable management isn't as good as in my brother's Antec 1200, but at least it's better than my old case. Some wires not long enough on my PSU such as the 8pin to the mobo that has to go right in front of everything. Is there an extender made for this? I tried to route it in more than 1 way and even turned the PSU the other way and it still would only route that 1 way and reach.

Here's an old pic (when I first built it), of what my cable management was like in the old case. http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/7017/newbuild01cj2.jpg

EDIT: Oh, and I was amazed how much quieter this case is than my other one. I had to turn up the rear fan a little to compensate, lol.

Looks like 8 inches is all you need. 8 pin EPS 12v 8" extension @ NE
FrozenCPU sells them longer and so does Performance-PCS.

You like tat mobo? I'm surprised you haven't been having some mobo issues, though. The 680i's are known for northbridge voltage issues when all four buses are populated. But then again, that was with 4x2. By your sig, you have 4x1.

Case looks nice, I just hate where that top fan mount is. It puts your CPU fan in a position to be fighting for air. which way do you have it blowing?

Cool, thanks for the link.

I like my mobo. Have had minor issues in the past, but nothing serious and all resolved. My latest issue was that the optical drive SATA cable wasn't fully plugged in or something and when using the drive it would freeze and mess up BIOS settings so I'd have to take out the battery to get it past POST. Yeah, I have 4X1GB RAM.

The fan is pulling air up out of the case. It came installed in the case and I didn't think about it at all. Which would be the better option?

Blowing onto the CPU cooler. But then again, I'd have to have a diagram showing all fans in the case and what purpose they serve.

I have 2 front fans blowing in, HSF blowing out the back, back fan blowing out the back, and then the top fan which I will turn around.

Good Caable management! Would of been nice seeing the cathode in action with a window.

Got my cold cathode today. The pics don't really do it any justice. My camera is kinda junky.
