Computers, or at least calculating devices, were around long before vacuun tubes or valves. Charles Babbage is considered to be "the father of computers" but even before him calculating devices were around, the ancient chinese were thought to be using them and even, perhaps before that.

I understand that however, this is a really neat computer. Somewhat rare and hard to find.

That is a really cool artifact (is it yours?) but disagree that it is a computer, it's a data lookup table. The cutouts allow one to see the relevant information in each column of data.

I know it says computer at the top but it really doesn't compute anything.
