Car Thread!

lol i dont see why you are getting so upset over this. I dont know what im talking about, right, what ever you say "ENTHUSIAST." Lets see how that bmw goes up a hill in decent sized snow, lets see how it does when the back wheels are stuck. Lets see how it does when it takes a wet corner at a fast speed with barley any traction at the front wheels because no power is being distributed to them. Sorry man but if you are saying the bmw does better at handling than the AWD subaru, ur not much of an open minded car enthusiast.

Ill give bmw the luxury aspect and comfort, speed to in their higher end cars(Which an Evo could smoke if the prices where to match). Though handling will go to Subaru, sorry man but Subaru knows what they are doing and always have. I dont see BMW doing to well at rallys and handling matters a whole lot in rally.
LOL you obviously don't know much about BMW's huh. They make all wheel drive cars too my friend...

OK :) That's quite enough, both of you, or all of you. Thread back on topic.
(I know, i'm such a kiss-ass, right?)

yes u are Grant lol :)

It just makes me laugh so much how these guys think their very well built RW systems are better than a Subaru Symmetrical AWD system. It just makes me laugh so much, I know what a BMW handles like. My best friends brother used to have one, my sisters husband used to have one before he sold it to get a Lexus. I know how beemers handle lol, they handle very tight and their handling is really good for RW cars but they do not outperform symmetrical awd in a Subaru handling wise.

Have you ever driven a 6 speed BMW 325xi? Drive one of those and let me know if you still think that your beloved suburu handles better...:p I can tell you from experience it handles much better my wife had one.

And BTW Suburu is not the only car to make and all wheel drive sports car. Check out the S4 which will Kill a suburu on the road

I don't know why we even bother to offer an example of something that is equal or better to what you believe is the best because no matter what the facts show you will still think your opinion is the final word.

i know subaru is not the onlw manufacturer with awd lol, i know a lot about cars, i have been following cars for year upon years. No subaru has the best awd system available at this time so thank you very much and stop spitting out opinions. lol i remember seeing a video on youtube with the new m5 going up against an old impreza in snow, didnt work out to well for the guy in the new m5. Yes it was a track to, sorry but off-road and weather conditions like that determine the handling of a car because that is where it is needed the most.

lol you cant compare an S4 to a freaking outback, the outback is not even a sports car. The 2008 s4 is a v8 4.2l with 300 something hp, my subaru is a 2007 outback 2.5l 4cyl. with 175hp.

A new S4 is also well over 45k at a dealer. Now let me go buy a brand new Evo X MR edition from a dealer for 42k and put about 3k into upgrades just to match the prices and we shall see who wins 1/4 mile lol.

just to be clear a stock 08 S4 does high 13's and so does a stock Evo X. BTW i love audi, especially the new s4 but their is better alternatives for speed out their. Though it is a very nice car and i would take it over my subaru any day within a heart beat but it does not out handle the Symmetrical AWD system that Subaru has, ESPECIALLY in off-road conditions.

Well just to let you know half of the country doesn't have to drive in the snow. Also you said that a suburu handles better than a BMW. You said nothing originally about a snow competition. And also anyone who has a BMW m5 Doesn't drive it in the snow just to let ya know. Anyone that is smart enough and who can afford an M5 also has an SUV or truck for the winter if they are in an area with snow. Not only is it better in the snow but also the salt put on the roads does a number on a car. People who buy M series BMW's buy them because they can afford to baby them or race them. Not to drive them in the winter.:D:D

And BTW the S4 with the 2.7L V6 Twin turbo will take down that Evo...:D:D

lol right thats why the v8 version of the S4 runs the same 1/4 miles as the new evo x, great opinion lol.

Yes M5's are meant to be babyed but the M5 is one of bmw's high end class cars and it cant do crap in an enviroment like that where handling matters the most. Was going up against an old impreza aswell lol. Since the M5 is so high end id expect it to handle better than a 325i or a 328 lol.

Yes i did mention snow and off-road in one of my posts, u should go back and read some more. If you dont believe me about the m5 thing ill try to find the video on youtube.

Of course an M5 is gonna have a harder time handling, it's a full-size sedan with comfort and performance in mind. You can only make 2 tons handle so well.

A 2.7T B5 S4 with a simple chip upgrade will rape any Subaru. Brings it from 250 to 318 bhp and from 258 to 382 lb/ft torque (specs quoted from the APR chip @ 93 octane). Definitely one of the most mod friendly cars. And it has quattro. Not a drag car by any means, but will get to 60 in under 5 seconds and with a good driver will break 13 seconds in the 1/4 mile.
The V8 version is kinda lame IMO it doesn't live up to the S4 name...not a mod friendly car, more of a fun but reliable daily driver.

Just for you guys to get excited, you should be seeing a lot more of one of these babies coming up starting Saturday if you know what I mean :) :) :)
