Car Thread!

youi could have just gotten a new compressor from a junk yard. Or just left your compressor on and had it not do anything. I saw someone who had a big SAS ranger, and they swapped in a 5.0, and left the AC compressor on, but since they never used it for A/C, they were going to use it to pump the tires back up after wheeling.

That's actually pretty innovative and nifty especially if you go offroading.

LOL

Wow I should totally do that. It would keep me from having to blow up my tires a few days before I race.

Yeah, I agree. The only time you would really not need one is if you're building a track slut. Then the AC compressor can go.

Or if you have a Lotus Exige with the track pack. :p

I sat in an Exige S this weekend... wow. Wow. Boner.
I wanted to ride but I had to work the track when he was running. Anyway here's a vid. I can link a whole thread if you want to see more pics. This is a slow run, seems like it's almost a second slower than my fastest, which I did not get on film.

I beat the Cosworth tuned 2.3 and the SVT Focus by hundredths of a second, lol. 5-speed and 6-speed manuals respectively. Not sure if it was me or my tires hahaha.

^^ Damn, those are sweet cars!

So today we had a couple exciting events in the parking lot. Two of my friends got in a little fender bender... One has a little Honda fit, and basically they both backed out at the same time.. The other guy had a buick, and he was a couple seconds behind, he backed into the front driver side fender. The kid with the brand new fit didnt really care though, just poped it back, and didnt care about the little chip so that was that... My other friend and I were just watching, lol. Then we told him to pop the hood on the fit, we had to see how small the engine really was. It had about the displacement of a Beer can, lol. Thenk we popped the hoods on our trucks, and showed them to the foreign exchange student from Belgium, lol. My friend was like, "Bet this engine is about the size of your car." Mercedes Smart car, lol. Showed him the Ford V8, and then told him the Liters, lol. "Yup. she is a 7.3L, not too bad." Kid from Belgium, "HOLY SHIT!!!" Then we told him, compared to some trucks, it wasnt really that big, lol. I told him to check out a cummings sometime, more then a Liter per cylinder, lol.

Yeah, it was a very good race between all of us (we're friends and stuff) because all our fastest runs were within .05 s of each other!
I can only thank my driving and my tires for keeping up because I have a feeling if they got more experience, they could drop almost a second.

Here is the thread with pictures and discussion.

I'm 6'0" and I had about 3" of headroom in there. The roof is very tall.

However there is a 1' sill coming off the bottom of the door. So not only is the car 3' tall, you have that 1' sill to climb over when you get it. It's basically like crawling into a power wheels car, bent in half.
