Yep. If they have the "i" nomenclature it means standard drivetrain which would be RWD and "xi" usually stands for xDrive which is BMW's AWD system.
Nope. The only FWD BMW I can think of is the Mini since BMW owns the rights, but the Mini has been FWD ever since it was created and when it was still British.
But yeah, both BMW and Mercedes have always made RWD and more recently AWD cars. The Germans make cars the proper way. FWD is only for cheap cost cutting companies.
