Car Thread!

Yeah, mine is the older automatics where it's just P/R/N/D/3/2/1. Yay for 4 speed automatic gearboxes. :p One thing I like about my E36 though is the BMW Sport Mode. Instead of using D where it's in "Economy Mode" and it makes all these tight and retarded shifts you shift the selector into 3 and it doesn't shift up until you get higher up in your rev band and it cuts off your final drive gear. I usually use that when I go on my spirited drives. :p

Yeah, I want to get an xcal3 for mine with a Bama tune, get 3 different tunes, an 87 octane mileage tune, and a 93 octane performance tune, and I'm not sure about the third tune yet... I'll wait til I have the $400 for it, but it is supposed to be good. The horsepower it unlocks is one thing, but the faster shifts and all in autos is supposed to be good as well.

I still can't decide if I want to drop money into coilovers or springs/struts for my car or get a different car altogether.

Coilovers, but don't get too stiff of a spring rate or you'll literally feel every bump and crack you drive over. :p

Wait, what car do you have again?

Neon.

I don't know much about the suspension to comment but I know that modified SRT-4s are ok as far as that goes. Nothing to write home about but you can hang if you know how to drive.

Same chassis, they aren't known for handling though.

I just don't know if it's worth it to put money into my car, or a different one. If I do end up getting something different, good handling is a must.

FWD cars can still handle well if driven properly. Of course, RWD is always preferable.

Focus :D

Or find an old CRX. They will go like crazy. Datsun 510... 240SX... Miata...
just throwing some out there for ya.

By the way, if you get a 510, you will be my hero.
