Alvino don't tell me your bimmer doesn't have power steering

It's power assist. A lot of European manufacturers use it. Basically combines the feel of direct steering with the aid of power steering. So when you're at slow speeds like in a parking lot, the steering is lighter like power steering to make it easier to control the car. When you start speeding up the power assist steps down and gives you a more direct and controlled feel. That's why when you drive any Audi, BMW or Mercedes and start going faster the steering becomes heavier and when you slow down it becomes lighter.

Personally... I like the Fusion better.

Hacet, where abouts in IL are you? Anywhere near Chicago? My truck can do that too!! haha, only one wheal though... POS Open dif.

My friend has a 76 trans am... even it has power steering. I kinda just assumed all cars nowadays had power steering.

Well to begin with, Ford Europe's design choices are far better than Ford NA's.

Have you seen the new Ford Taurus? Compare it to the Ford Mondeo Mk.4. Hell, I think even the Ford Mondeo Mk.3 looks better than the Taurus.

You do the comparison. It's just sad that the US division of Ford can't even make cars that look better than the European division. It's quite humiliating to be honest...

The '08 Taurus looks like a newer look of the Ford Tempo really... That's pretty bad to say in the least. The Tempo is ugly, and I have to live with mine for only about 2 more months or so! :D

I agree that Europe's Fords look much better than North America's Fords right now. The '08 designs in general all look like crap unless it was a design that wasn't updated in the past 2 years (F-150 and Mustang basically).

When they go with all the same designs for Europe and NA, they better use Europe's design team and fire NA's... :p

I'm about 30 minutes outside of Chicago. I could have kept going for a while lol, but I didn't want to roast my tires :p Turns out it didn't matter cause when I got home the front right tire was losing air because the tires were dry rotted, oh well new tires now :D

is that necessarily a bad thing if it doesn't?

No, it's not. It's just that everything except track cars these days has power steering.

And it's not necessarily the power steering that ruins the feel, it's how strong it is. "Old-people cars" typically have so much that the steering is sloppy and slushy, but you can easily take it a step back and just put in weaker power steering for a heavier wheel. That's how my car is.

I drove a '98 Camry and I almost died.

Haha, nice, my front tires are getting dry rotted, and have barely any tread... I want to find some decent Alloy rims on craigslist(mine are only 14") and get some BFG all terrains, but the sizing will be slightly bigger, so I may need a speedo recal, or just risk it...
I live like 2 hours north of Chicago, was just down in Oak Park today.
