Car Thread!

i call bullshit

Well, you can, but it's not... I have seen the truck and ridden in it. His grandpa owned it since it was brand new.

oops, messed up that qoute a little bit...

One more thing, its a gas engine, not a diesel. If it was diesel, it would go a lot longer still.

My dads car is about 220,000 and running strong. Subaru forester. H-4 2.5L. It's an '02. For a while, he was driving like 3 hours down south of chicago to Dolton, everyday there and back. So it added up quick, cause we live right accross the wisconson border in IL. His car hasnt had much work at all. Except the day after we bought it brand new, lol. Not supposed to drive it so much when its new I guess, cause we took it on a trip to Iowa after buying it... Broke down...

My old chem teacher has a diesel F-350 that has 300,000 something miles on it. I think he's on his second or third engine though.

Just drove up Highway 9/Big Basin again. Went well into the Palo Alto hillside area. So beautiful...

Hehe, it was so fun on the way down. I was hitting about 60 well through the entire way back down to Saratoga's downtown. :D When we stopped at the end, I could smell my tires.

Which reminds me that I need new tires. Apparently my dad thinks that skimping on tires isn't a big deal so he just bought a whole set of these Dayton Daytona NT tires. -____- I think I'll just wear them down until I have to replace them, then I'll just get a whole new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions.

Wow, diesels, especially trucks should last a LOT longer then that. Diesel trucks like that should last like 500,000 miles, at least the engine should. Diesel is like an oil, and good for the engine, unlike gas. Gas is the opposite.

Miles.

For your first car? Damn, someone would key that the first day, lol.

I hear a lot of stories on the ranger forum I am a part of, about people getting there brand new lifted truck keyed. That would suck! Or egged on a summer day.
One person bought clear tails, and had them stolen, ripped out, twice. Some people are really stupid, whats the point ya know.

Miles.

It's a monstrous dually. And I believe it's his second engine. ~300k ain't bad.

300k isnt bad if it was gas. But diesels really are meant to run a long time.
I heard those powerstrokes are supposed to last like 500k. Unless was it one of the ones that had a recall? Cause something in the powerstrokes had to be recalled recently.
