Car Thread!

Talon Tsi Turbo all-wheel drive with light mods will beat ur RX-8 in a drag, talons are a lot faster than people give credit for, my N/A beats V6 eclipses by a couple car lengths with just an K&N air filter as a mod.

Hate to tell you this, but the only reason why a TSI is any good in a drag is because of it jump at the start due to all wheel drive. If it were a front wheel your times would be alot slower.

What time are you getting in the 1/4 mile?

Never tested it because I'm going to get a TSI or Lancer evo eventually, and there is no point in modding my N/A, so I've never tested it, I just drag on the street with other people sometimes.

Yeah, maybe in a drag, but screw that. Only obese Americans care about drag races. True races are in the technical courses.

Haha, just kidding. :p But seriously speaking, I really don't think your Talon would be able to keep up with a RX-8 in the corners. MAYBE in the straights, but corners...doubt it. Now I'd really like to see this: RX-8 vs. Talon TSI. Battle to the death at the Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca. That corkscrew combined with the elevation change is very tricky and in many cases, deadly.

AWD has a tendency to understeer like FWD unless it is professionally set up, so it wouldn't be much of a challenge...

This guy is very good in the RX8 on that track. This is how the Rotary Engine is suppose to be used!

Haha, yeah I saw that when you posted the other videos. Pretty good. I think I would die if I tried taking on the corkscrew.

Yeah, thats true. Can't argue with the traction you get from AWD though...

So I think I want to spend my co-op money with a friend to build an all out track Festiva. No title. No insurance. No holds barred.

That's always been a hobby of mine to do that. Get an older car where smog is not a concern. Build it from the ground up and race it. I'm not too tech saavy when it comes to building one from ground up so I will need a lot of help with it. In the future, once I get settled down and earn decent wages, I like to do this with the help of a local speed shop. Little things I can do myself, but dropping a motor and electric work isn't one of them.
