The RX8 is not as fast as you think, even with turbos. Well, depends on which version you get. They make a piece of crap version where almost any car can beat, but I feel even the top of the line RX8 are nowhere near an IS350, Infiniti G35, type speeds.

Sure, you could turbo the RX-8 to beat the other cars, but you could turbo the other cars and beat the turbo RX-8.

Putting a turbo on a car goes farther than just slapping the turbo on and expecting big numbers. You have to pay attention to A/F ratios, spark timing, compression ratios, boost pressure, and detonation, which can destroy your motor if you aren't careful. If the stock internals can't take as much power as your trying to get, parts from inside the motor may end up outside.

The point is, you can do anything with any car if you have the money and knowledge.

Yeah thats why when you get a greddy turbo on the rx8 you get the Boost controller and the whole bit.

How bout this. I drop a 3 rotor in the rx8 and it runs 8sec in the 1/4 mi.

lol nah I just love em. But the main reason I like them is because the rotary engine is so unique, no other car has them.
