I'm building a theme from as much scratch as you can in VB. I am not a coder so mostly what is done is done with CSS,DHTML, and a smattering of Java. Of which none I profess to be nothing but a hobbist having a fun time while learning a thing or two.
Traumatic Tinkering is the theme name I'm currently on. Buzz told me how to get a virgin copy of the default theme so now it's off to the races. I ran out of ideas for the transparencity theme and I think Anime Planet is toast.
Please don't rip me for not being some sort of coding god. I'm just a hobbist having fun and learning things along the way. Like I should have picked another subject for my forum. LOL!!!

Ideas and suggestions are welcome. Getting my ass ripped is not.

I like the layout, but the black/white/blue combo I think is hard on the eyes for an extended period of time. I like where you're going with the headers on the page, but the blue gradient seems "grainy". I can appreciate the learning/experimentation process though. Glad you're taking the time to try it out for yourself!

I think that it looks good,

I agree with the above that the colours can be a little hard on the eyes, but the biggest thing I think is probably the most obvious...

The gradient fade from blue to black on the logo is perfect.

the gradient fade on the buttons seems to be fading to grey, so it doesn't fade into the black very well, I think that remaking the graphics for the forum deviders and buttons would bring the design together well,
