Here's what happened.

The hard drive on my hp laptop has been acting up, and when tested it needs to be replaced and is under warranty. So, hp is sending me a new one.. yayy :)

The original hard drive had windows vista home on it... and i hate vista, i love XP!

So when the new hard drive arrives, I'd like to install XP on it instead of vista. I have the XP CD and everything... but will there be any other problems?

Just pop in the CD, install XP, and get necessary drivers from hp website - and I am done?

Or do you think there will be issues.......?

Here is the laptop I have: HP Pavilion dv6700t series

I should also add...

1. i just got the new hard drive today and will install it once i get a response

2. the new hard drive is FRESH - no other operating system on it, so i dont see a problem in going with XP.. jusst need an ok from someone :)

looks like they actually have XP drivers for that model, so you should be ok. Be warned that if they have you send it in for another warranty issue you will likely have to reinstall vista before they will accept it.

Thanks for the response man..

Ahh yeah not a problem.

Cant wait to go back to XP - life is good!
