I want to do a clean install of windows 7 64bit but I had a couple questions. I have an internal hd that I've been using to store music, pics, ISO's and random programs. Since the internal hd was setup with vista will all my data be there after windows 7 is installed? The primary hd is a sata and the other is IDE.

this is what i have imagined. i will unplug the internal ide hd and plug in after i install w7 that way i can still access my data.

You shouldn't need to. Upon installation it should give you the option to pick the hdd to install on.

As rick said, you get to pick your harddrive to install it on, I had 2 harddrives a 640 and a 1tb i installed W7 on the 640 and the 1tb was untouched with all my music and videos.

Yup, that's it. Just be careful to select the right one and go ahead. No need to pull the cable...

Make sure it has a name like "Storage drive" or something so that you can distinguish it from the other drive.
