I'm using Vista 32bit. A couple of times is been stuck at the shutdown screen (Is this common in Vista?) and I've just got annoyed after 10 - 15 mins and held in the power button.

How when I start it up I get the progress bar with the Vista logo, then the screen goes black for 5 minutes before going to the login screen. I've decided I'm gonna reformat and reinstall as the computer is getting a bit messed up anyways and it should help it run smoother. However when I baught the computer, I did not get a OS CD, so it must already be on the system. I have a windows number on a sticker on the side of my case? It's like... XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

Anyways, how do I refomat / reinstall, thanks for your help.
Dan.

Hi,

There should be either:

A recovery partition on my computer

or

In start>all programs there should be a folder called _________ recovery disc creator

either of those will format your computer and reinstall vista with all the drivers etc.

Good Luck.

Hate to troll, but its for a good reason...

Get rid of vista get 7, or go back to xp.
