USB Ports Not Working With XP!! Help!!

I just reformatted my pc with xp pro and my usb ports were working, but now they aren't. So I can't use my mouse and keyboard because both are usb and i don't have any ps/2 slots anyways on my pc. I can't reformat because my pc doesn't find a keyboard..........Is there anything I can do to fix this??

what motherboard are you working with that doesnt have ps/2 for mouse and keyboard? Are you absolutely sure you dont have ps/2 slots??? Normally they're green and purple ... Im going to learn something new if I find out the motherboard model you have doesnt have ps/2 slots.

What you may end up having to do is finding another pc to create a slipstreamed XP Pro cd with XP Pro and usb drivers from the motherboard manufacturer.

Check the BIOS options for USB keyboard support. Although, I suppose that would be hard without a keyboard.... hmmmm. Yeah, try reinstalling Windows.

did you install the drivers for the mainboard chip set AND have you installed SP1 or SP2 ?
