Triple booting

My hardware is:

Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe, socket A
AMD XP2600
1 Gig (soon to be 2 gigs) PC3200, dual channel
(2) 80 Gig. Maxtor hard drives, pata133,

I have one hard drive (hda) with two partitions, with Win 2000 on a 23.2 Gig partition (hda1) and an empty partition of 53 Gigs formatted with fat32 (hda2).

The other hard drive (hdb) is loaded with SuSE 9.3, partitioned into swap, native /, and /home, formatted reiserfs iirc.

I want to load openSUSE 11 or 11.1 when it comes out, but want to keep Win 2000 and SuSE 9.3. My plan is to put the new linux distro in the empty partition hda1.

It has been several years since I built this computer and set it up, and I have kind of forgotten exactly how I went about it. It seems to me I should be able to boot into a CD or DVD with openSUSE 11.1 and during the installation process reformat the partition and set it to boot from the current boot loader without loosing my current operating systems. Does this all sound feasable? And is there anything I am missing? Things to watch for? Advice?

I am not really very computer literate, I have a pretty good grasp of the basics but nothing in depth.
