Urgh. I'm not fantastic with technology, so forgive me if I'm asking something obvious here. I just ran a Norton antivirus scan and it detected a faketrojanAV. I spent about ten minutes worrying and downloaded a bunch of programs to try and get rid of it.
When I looked back at my Norton summary again it said the trojan has been fixed. It hasn't come up again - so I'm hoping this is the case.
Unfortunately, however, during my panic stage, I think I must have messed something up, because now every time I try and use a program on the desktop I get:
"Choose the program you want to open this file with."
It makes no sense; I don't usually have to choose a program to open a file with. What's gone wrong?
