hi.
is it possible to lock a hard drive so no one can right to it
i have xp pro on one hard drive and vista on the other
i would like to lock the vista hard drive so when you are on xp you can not get to he hard drive that vista is on (the wife mainly)
cheers

make the drive private. But if your wife is normal shes gonna want to know why you are locking that drive. I would just make a folder and make that folder private for your "stuff"

Also you can get progs of the internet to restrict access to that folder with a password.

alternatively theres something called "folder lock", which can restrict access to folders, so you could restrict access to the windows files and what not. you could then still use the drive for storage.

You can change the Security settings in the properties of folders in Vista. Put your files that you do not want your wife to see in that folder, and block her account from seeing it or something. :)
